They are over 100 tertiary institutions in Nigeria
,this post contains the list of the top 10 ten best universities in Nigeria according to the latest NUC ranking.

Over the years,we have noticed the rise in the number of tertiary institutions,especially when it comes to the number of new private institutions,in this post we are going to look at the top best universities in Nigeria and examine their ranking both in Nigeria and in the world.

Top 10 Universities In Nigeria

1. University of Ibadan - Ibadan

Also known as UI, this university was founded in 1948,with the motto "Recte sapere fons Right" meaning thinking is the fountain of knowledge. 

The university of Ibadan is ranked as the best university in Nigeria and is among the top 1000 universities in the world ranking (world rank- 992).

The university is located in the urban city of Ibadan.

UI is accredited by the National Universities Commission, Nigeria.

The University has about 24 thousand students and offers different  higher education degrees like as pre-bachelor degrees,bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study.

The University of Nigeria was founded in 1960,with the motto 'To restore the dignity of man'. 

The University's mascot is a Lion,the students of this university call themselves Lions and Lioness. 

The university is ranked as the second best university in Nigeria and has a world rank of 1999.

The university is located in a small city of Nsukka,a small town outside the states main capital city Enugu.

The university of Nigeria Nsukka enrolls almost 50,000 new students each year.

The University is accredited by the National Universities Commission, Nigeria.

This tertiary institution is ranked as number six in the vountry rank.Ahmadu Bello University also known as 
ABU was established in 1962.

The tertiary institution is accredited by the National Universities Commission,ABU has an enrollment range of about 30,000 students yearly.
The University offers higher education courses and degrees as with a proper academic facilities.


7. Federal University of Technology, Minna

The Federal University of Technology, Minna is the 7th best university in Nigeria and has a world rank of 3202.

FUT Minna was founded in 1982 and is accredited  by the National Universities Commission, Nigeria.

The tertiary institution is also popularly called FUTO and is accredited by the National Universities Commission, Nigeria.
FUTO offers degree awarding courses and programs and also provides academic facilities and services to students.The school's motto is "Technology For Service".
