The Development Bank of Nigeria is an initiative orchestrated by the Federal Government of Nigeria
in collaboration with the World Bank,The African Development Bank (AfDB), KfW Development Bank,French Agency for Development (AFD) and European Investment Bank (EIB). 

The aim of creating the The Development Bank of Nigeria is to address some of the major financing challenges facing Small Scale and Medium Scale Enterprises (MSMEs) in Nigeria.

The objective of the Development Bank of Nigeria is to alleviate financing constraints faced by Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and also small Corporate enterprises in Nigeria through the provision of finance.

The availability of funding will encourage the growth of 
domestic production and commerce and will help to boost the economy,and also assist in poverty reduction, and will help to create wealth.

The loans and support given to MSMEs by The Development Bank Of Nigeria and other affiliate banks has a moratorium period of up to 18 months,this would enable the Small & Medium Enterprises in Nigeria to have a lengthy period to pay back the loans gotten from the Banks.
