  • The Headies was formerly known as the Hip Hop World Awards.
  • The Headies was established in 2006 by the Hip Hop World Magazine of Nigeria.

  • The first and 2nd editions (2006 and 2007) ewere held at the Muson Center in Onikan, Lagos State.
