the Nigerian Customs,he or she is usually appointed by the incumbent President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,the post is renewable after a tenure of four years. 

There can only one Comptroller-General of Customs. 

The second rank is the rank of the Deputy Comptroller-General which is the 2nd highest rank in the Nigerian Customs. 

This rank is held by a few selected top officers that serve as assistants to the Comptroller General. 

The 3rd highest Customs rank is the Assistant Comptroller-General of customs. 

The 4th highest Customs rank is the Comptroller.

The 5th highest Customs rank is the Assistant Comptroller,this is the lowest officer rank in the Customs
