popularly called Civil Defense in Nigeria is a paramilitary institution that was founded in May 1967 by the Federal Republic of Nigeria,back then it's role was to sensitise and protect the civil populace,it was called the Lagos Civil Defence Committee.

During the tenure of President Olusegun Obasanjo,the NSCDC was given more rights with the act of National Assembly. This act was amended in 2007.-
The Civil Defence Corps is commissioned to provide measures against threat against Nigeria and her citizens. The agency carry out this role in conjunction with Nigeria police.
The NSCDC also help to prevent and reduce the occurrence of pipeline vandalism and also involves in crisis resolutions in Nigeria.

According to our research new graduate entry Bsc NSCDC officers are placed on level 8,HND holders are placed on level 7,medical doctors (MBBS) are placed on level 12 while masters degree holders are placed on level 9.---
An NSCDC Bsc holder earns about ₦ 119,000 monthly,A HND And OND holder earns ₦ 69,000 while a WAEC holder (O level) earns about ₦ 49,000 monthly.
A Level 7 NSCDC Inspectorate Cadre receives between ₦69,000 - ₦70,000 per month,
A Level 8 Asst Superintendent Cadre receives between ₦120,000 - ₦130,000 monthly.
Generally a new entry graduate NSCDC officer earn between ₦ 69,000 - ₦ 130,000 per month (After Tax)* excluding allowances.
