Skales met music producers Jeremiah Gyang
and Jesse Jagz while he was an undergraduate
at the University of Jos (Unijos).
He won the Zain Tru Search Competition
while he was still at Unijos.
In 2009 he signed a record deal with Banky W's
now defunct record label called E.M.E.
His singles titled "Mukulu" and "Keresimesi"
did well on the chart after he was signed by Banky.
Skales later left E.M.E to established his own
record label called 'OHK music'.
