Early Life 

Timi Dakolo was born in Accra Ghana,
his father hail from Bayelsa while his mother 
was a Ghanaian.

The singer lost his mother when he was just 13. 
He was raised by his grandmother Ateni Dakolo 
and his Aunty Susan Larry in Port Harcourt 
Nigeria. 

He attended the University of Port-Harcourt 
where he studied Communication Studies. 

Career 

Timi was taught the basics of singing 
by his Aunty Susan,he joined his local church 
choir at the age of 12. 

The talented singer was once in a single group 
called 'Purple Love' which he joined In 2003,
he left the singing group in 2005 and won a 
local talent hunt contest called G.E FACTO. 

His breakthrough came after he won the 
inaugural season of Idols West Africa in 2007 
after he auditioned in Calabar,Cross River.

He later signed a recording contract with 
Sony BMG.

In 2019,Busola Dakolo wife of Timi Dakolo 
called out Commonwealth of Zion Assembly 
(COZA) Pastor and founder,she accused him 
of ra*pe. 

The gifted musician is currently signed with Lone Records/Now Muzik,he is also one of the Judges 
on The Voice Nigeria.
